A foundation initiative.
The foundation exists to keep the foundational technologies of AI open, decentralized, and accessible to all. We combine three lines of work — open research, open governance, and open standards — under a single mission, so that the way AI is built, evaluated, and adopted remains open in its methods, accountable in its consequences, and inclusive in its reach.
We focus on work that is unlikely to be funded by purely commercial incentives — reproducibility, multilingual inclusion, accessibility, transparent benchmarks, and safety infrastructure that is auditable by third parties.
Our mission and governance principles are published and will be ratified by the founding membership upon election.
Forming.
The foundation is in formation. The mission and governance principles have been published by the founding sponsor. Other activities — research outputs, working group charters, community initiatives, and standards positions — will be published as the founding membership is elected and the public agenda is set.
The Tenzro Foundation is supported by Tenzro Labs as its founding sponsor — the commercial company that bootstrapped the open-source Tenzro Network. As the network moves to mainnet, it comes under the foundation’s stewardship and governance — the model most enduring open networks have followed, where a company funds the early engineering and a foundation carries the result forward in the public interest.
The foundation operates independently; research direction, publications, and project selection are governed by the foundation alone.
